How It All Began

Focusing on increased engagement and joy, vital relationships and peaceful presence; energetic contributions and healthy habits.

Age is an Attitude was born while hiking Mt Constitution on Orcas Island. For years we explored businesses that would serve our aging population. What we discovered were a lot of services for aiding in a diminished “end of life” experience.  More and more there are opportunities focused on enriched experiences in your "third act…second half…final chapters" or however you want to name the added 20-30 years we now have in life expectancy.

Who We Are

Paula Fitzgerald Boos

For 30 years I have been walking with people as they answer the question, "What do I want to be when I grow up this time?"  The new dimension of this question that has been fun to explore with clients is "who do you want to be as you grow older?"

I have been connecting people to possibilities since high school. Because I have always been insatiably curious about the people in my family, my community, and my workplaces, I have always asked lots of questions. Questions that help me understand more fully; questions consistently asked from a place of curiosity and compassion and non-judgment; questions that enable me to make the connections.

I delight in introducing people to others when I see potential connections and interest. In my early days of connecting people to possibilities this took the form of introducing my friends to their lifetime mates—five of my couple friends met through me and are still together 30 years later.

In my professional life connecting people to possibilities has included recruiting, outplacement consulting and training, career strategizing, executive coaching, team building and leadership development. My "10,000 hours" is in the transitional space of choosing and executing proactive forward changes. For the 20+ years since I left my full time sales career with IBM to focus on family and relationships, I have been blessed to work with and serve organizations and leaders I respect and whose values I believe in.

In this adventure it is a gift to get to support "modern elders" as they proactively choose the life that aligns with their values and gifts.

Life changes for all of us. I have focused on finding the positive in my life seasons and I’m committed to helping others find, make, and experience the positive in their life changes, particularly in the 2nd half of life.

My professional career has been spent leading sales teams and organizations. In that capacity, I have been involved in the hiring (and sometimes firing) of hundreds of people. More recently I have focused on helping client companies hire right people for right roles. I have seen what works and what doesn’t work. Right fits and not so right fits. By listening and asking questions I’ve learned how to help colleagues and friends pursue positive next steps in their professional and personal lives.

Being in the right place at the right time is important for all of us. That is equally true whether someone is 20-something and starting their professional career or 50-something and thinking about transitioning to the 2nd half of life. I am honored to be a part of helping friends and colleagues find and experience new opportunities for growth and adventure as they prepare for, embrace and experience the “over 50” years of their lives.
